One of the goals of Imago Dei Politics is to promote candidates for public office whose ideas and integrity fit our mission statement, a singular vision of politics that recognizes the Image and Likeness of God in every human being. We are a collection of individuals from various walks of life, differing ages, and representative of all regions of our nation. While we are not political professionals, one of our Board of Trustees members, Monica Sohler, has run for city council and was an American Solidarity Party candidate for New Jersey legislature in 2017. We are determined to use the experience and insights we do have to help good candidates run for office–both by finding those who are already running and by recruiting candidates to run.
At our founding meeting on March 3, 2018, we endorsed Congressman Dan Lipinski, one of the few remaining pro-life Democrats in Congress. We congratulate him on his victory in the Democratic primary, and look forward to his near-certain victory against a reprehensible Republican candidate, Arthur Jones, who has expressed neo-Nazi sympathies. We also endorsed four members of the American Solidarity Party of California who are running for office as “No Party Preference” candidates in the June 5, 2018, “top two” primary elections.
